Thanksgiving

This year like many future Thanksgivings are new adventures. I started out the day at 2 am. I woke up and got ready and went into work. At work, my co-workers and I finished the task of putting on the final touches for our Thanksgiving Buffets. We are able to serve 2,000-3,000 people. The work went smoothly and I happily made it home by 10:30. I cannot say how good that was considering the last Holiday (4 of July) when I worked an 13 hour day. So anyways, getting home early allowed us to fully enjoy thanksgiving dinner at our dear friends house. The dinner was to start at 1 pm so we had plenty of time. We brought the sweets to the meal. We brought a pumpkin pie and some of our freshly baked Christmas cookies. We spent the afternoon playing games and talking. Becky and I made it home by about 7:30 where I spent the rest of the night on the couch watching a little football and going in and out of consciousness. While we do miss spending time with our families we know we are where we need to be.

closing thought

Do all things without grumbling or disputing: so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all. Phil 2:14-17

Happy Thanksgiving

November

Hello everyone! To our 5 readers Greetings:

November is truly the best time of the year. Can I count the ways? 1. Best Holiday 2. my Birthday 3. election season (congrats to local colorado springs saying no to more taxes)and now every professional sport is in season. Thanks to baseball the fall classic now ends in November. Shout out for Becky as her Yankees have triumphed. I am sure she would have participated in the ticker-tape parade had someone sent her an invitation. In other news on the sporting front, rumor has it that there is an important game being played in Lincoln today. From past experience i will not go out on a limb and predict a winner. I just want a well played game and to the victor go the spoils :).

Okay enough jibber-jabber. Becky and I are really loving Colorado Springs. I am a full time at the Broadmoor hotel in the Bakery. Check them out online if you want the full scoop on the Broadmoor. All i will say is that it is by far the best place i have worked to date. We are thankful that God has provided to cover all our expenses and have a little extra for savings. We have found a church that Becky has really been able to plug into and connect. As I have Sunday's off, like tommorrow, I am able to go. The blessing has been finding a lifegroup that meets in the evenings which I am able to attend each week and has really been very encouraging. One of our couples in celebrating 25 years of marriage tonight so we will have the privilege of celebrating with them. (Looking forward to great Italian food)

parting thought

Therefore prepare you minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

much love
John
